Did you know that at Les Bonnets Bleus micro-farm, we have an ancestral fruit press? This vintage yet highly effective tool transforms your surplus fruit into delicious, freshly pressed juice.
Why an ancestral juice press?
Because nothing beats simplicity. With this traditional system, there are no complicated gadgets or electricity needed: just your fruit, a little elbow grease, and the magic happens. The result? Natural juice, no added sugar, keeping all the freshness and flavor of the fruit.
How does it work?
It’s simple:
Bring your fruit (apples, pears, grapes, prunes ,etc.… depending on the season).
Plan a minimum of 10 kilos of fruit to get the best results.
Bring your own containers to take your juice home.
Grégoire will guide you through using the press, and in just a few minutes, you’ll have homemade juice that’s 100% local and 100% delicious.
In collaboration with Fruits Défendus Montréal 🍏
This project is made possible thanks to our partnership with Fruits Défendus Montréal, an organization that rescues urban fruit surpluses and fights food waste. Together, we give a second life to these harvests while benefiting the community.
When to try it?
👉 Every Volunteer Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Les Bonnets Bleus micro-farm. Grégoire will be there to show you how it works.
👉 Can’t make it on a Thursday? Don’t worry: the press will also be running during our big event, Inari en fête, on Saturday, August 30.
Why it’s worth it:
You make use of your surplus fruit.
You get to experience a traditional tool that has stood the test of time.
You go home with fresh, unique juice you made yourself!
We can’t wait to welcome you at the micro-farm for this unique experience—blending tradition, collaboration, and a refreshing taste of summer.
