HOW DOES IT WORK?
  •  You must present your member card at the reception and checkout

  •  You can choose 25 items

  •  Total price is set at $7.00 per person

  •  You can take advantage of the grocery service once a week.*

People registered in social integration programs and who have been assessed by a worker can go grocery shopping only on Fridays.​

SEVERAL PEOPLE AT THE SAME ADDRESS? GET MORE ITEMS PER VISIT!*

* People living at the same address must do their shopping together, on the same day and at the same time.

  • 1 person: 25 items for $7 – access once a week

  • 2 people (including a parent with a child): 50 items for $14 – access once a week

  • 3 people (any age): 75 items for $21 – access every two weeks

  • 4 people: 100 items for $28 – access every two weeks

  • 5 people or more: 125 items for $35 – access every two weeks

WHAT IS A SOLIDARITY GROCERY STORE?

Social and solidarity grocery stores are barely ten years old, but still little is known about how they work. However, this innovative model of access to food is growing year after year. Social and solidarity grocery stores are intended to welcome beneficiary populations directed by associations, community organizations or public institutions.

HOW TO GET A MEMBER CARD ?

To obtain a member card, you must be a resident of the Côte-des-Neiges district and have a low income. To register, simply go to the MultiCaf reception with the following documents : 

  • Identity document

  • Proof of residence (e.g. lease)

  • Proof of status in Canada

  • Proof of income

SOCIAL GROCERY AND SOLIDARITY IN 6 PILLARS
  1. Fixed price of $7.00 for 25 items.

  2. Free choice of products 

  3. Welcoming and supporting people when they arrive at the grocery store, when they make their purchases and through the varied activities offered to them.

  4. Volunteer commitments.

  5. The spirit of partnership between the different actors and with local communities, other local associations, the Côte-des-Neiges food security consultation table.

  6. Rigor to ensure hygiene and food safety.

OBJECTIVE: Return to autonomy.
